FAA fastens security belts at all airports

FAA planned to evacuate all terminals and have canine teams perform 'cleaning' operations at airports around the country, an FAA official said at a press briefing in Boston.

There will be more security personnel at the airports and an increase in the number of random identification checks, he said.

The plan also calls for bomb detection teams to be present at airports for quick response and for authorities to reduce the number of access points into airports.

Airports will discontinue curbside check-ins and remove vehicles within 300 feet of the terminal.

FAA will prohibit the sale of knives'plastic or metal'on airport premises.

Airport operators will develop a security plan and keep security personnel updated on the latest events.
