The Education Department last week launched a redesigned Web site that's easier
to navigate. Users now have the option of personalizing the site, at
www.ed.gov.
Other new features include:
Reorganized information, including five categories of grants and contracts, financial aid for students, education resources, research and statistics, and policy
Dedicated pages for teachers, principals, parents, students and technical-assistance providers
Improved search function.
'The new www.ed.gov is part of what will be an ongoing effort to make the information and resources of the Department of Education available and understandable to policymakers, government leaders, educators, parents and students alike,' said Education Secretary Rod Paige.
During the second phase of the redesign, which will begin soon, the department will revamp the site's appearance and content structure.
