A new generation of the Nimda worm infected systems at federal courts in Miami late last month.
The courts went to a paper system to track cases as workers fixed computers affected by the Nimda.E virus, a spokesman for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts said.
Even though the worm also hit the federal courts' national computer network, all court files were safe, he said.
Nimda.E disables Microsoft Windows NT and Win 2000 platforms, propagating itself through e-mail and hiding from detection software more effectively than its predecessor.
