HHS signs deal for financial system merger

The Health and Human Services Department has awarded a one-year, $12 million contract to KPMG Consulting Inc. of McLean, Va., to design a unified financial management system.

Under the contract, which has six one-year options, KPMG will develop an intranet to unify financial management at all HHS agencies. The estimated value of the contract, if all options are exercised, is $92 million.
