The State Department has chosen Accenture LLP of Chicago to implement the pilot phase of its Overseas Presence Interagency Collaboration project.
Accenture bested Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego and SRA International Inc. of Fairfax, Va., both of which also created prototypes of the OPIC knowledge management system, according to sources close to the procurement. Neither State nor Accenture had announced the decision at press time.
State and Accenture now will begin negotiations for a task order, with a pilot set to begin late next month and continue through September. The pilot will involve 2,400 employees in Washington, as well as at posts in India and Mexico.
