Treasury picks SBC for $13m voice, data BPA

The Treasury Department has awarded SBC Global Services Inc. a 41/2-year, $13 million blanket purchasing agreement to provide the department and its bureaus with telephony equipment and services.

Under the Treasury Telecommunications Solutions blanket purchasing agreement, the San Antonio company will supply:

• Data networking products from Adtran Inc. of Huntsville, Ala., and Alcatel USA Inc. of Plano, Texas


• Voice and data equipment from Nortel Networks Corp. of Brampton, Ontario


• Call accounting and facilities management systems from Veramark Technologies Inc. of Pittsford, N.Y.


• Videoconferencing equipment from VTEL Products Corp. of Austin, Texas.

SBC will provide network design, installation and maintenance for legacy equipment and new products.
