GSA teams will sort out overlap of FSS and FTS
The General Services Administration has formed three teams to develop business plans and options to incorporate recommendations from a recent study of the Federal Supply and Federal Technology services.
The May study, by Accenture LLP of Chicago, suggested merging some areas of FSS and FTS to improve their effectiveness.
The teams will determine how to combine overlapping IT responsibilities carried out by both programs and expand the GSA's technical and procurement assistance services into other product and service lines.
Boyd Rutherford, who earlier this month was named to head the General Services Administration's new Office of Performance Improvement, will manage the three teams as head of a steering committee, which also includes FSS commissioner Donna Bennett and FTS commissioner Sandra
