County finds an easier way to post on Web

Prince George's County, Md., is using Rhythmyx content management software from Percussion Software Inc. of Stoneham, Mass., to pump press releases and other information onto the county's Web site, at www.pgcounty.com.

Nancy C. Lineman, press secretary for county executive Jack B. Johnson, said she writes press releases in Microsoft Word, then cuts and pastes the text onto the Rhythmyx Web site.

Lineman also uses Rhythmyx to post photos to the site. 'It gives us greater control of the Web site content,' she said.

The Rhythmyx software is written in Java and uses Extensible Markup Language.
