The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have a leading role in global response to the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.
A CDC-created Web site, at www.cdc.gov/ncidod/sars
, consolidates SARS information for patients, health care providers, travelers and others'in several languages.
Each Friday, the agency updates information about the most important health issues the country faces in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. An online version is available at the SARS site.
The death report includes SARS progression and fatality statistics, as well as descriptions of the disease, diagnosis, treatment and control developments. It covers developments in the areas where SARS has struck hardest and describes CDC's cooperation with other governments and organizations to combat the outbreak.
