Wanted: a few good leaders

GCN is seeking nominations for its new Leadership Awards.

The awards will go to 10 career government managers who have a demonstrated record of excellence in program and mission delivery using IT, and who have inspired other individuals or groups to high achievement. The awards are open to career officials at the federal, state and local levels of government.

Nomination forms with details on selection criteria are available at http://www.gcn.com/management-events/leadership/index.html.

Winners will be profiled in GCN's April 19 issue.

GCN will present a one-day leadership conference on May 19. It will feature award winners as faculty. Awardees will be chosen by a panel of PostNewsweek Tech Media editors and outside experts from industry and government.

'We have for many years honored agencies for group projects. Now we are recognizing excellence in individuals who develop or oversee IT in service of government's missions,' GCN executive editor Thomas R. Temin said.
