Novell Inc.'s new SuSE Linux division and IBM Corp. have announced Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 3+ international security certification for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 running on all four of IBM's eServer lines.
The two companies also announced that SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 now complies with the Defense Information Systems Agency's Common Operating Environment standard on IBM xSeries and zSeries eServers.
Last summer, the combination of SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 and IBM's xSeries eServers with Intel processors, reached EAL2+ status. Novell acquired the SuSE Linux business unit this month.
