Life's a gamble, but gambling doesn't have to be a problem. About 30 states provide services for those who are addicted to gambling, largely through the the state's American Indian casinos via its site at gm.state.az.us.

The Missouri Lottery Commission offers services for problem gamblers via 888betsoff.org, where it reports that although the legal age for gambling in the state is 18, an estimated 85 percent of high schoolers have gambled. Resources to fight problem gambling are aimed at preventing the problem, supporting treatment for users and preventing suicide. State officials have formed the Association of Problem Gambling Service Administrators, which coordinates state activities at apgsa.org. The organization provides information about how states can use technology, sometimes with federal funding, to help the country's estimated 1.6 million adult and 1.1 million adolescent pathological gamblers.
