Patent office will get continued systems help from CSC
The Patent and Trademark Office awarded Computer Sciences Corp. a $280 million contract to continue providing systems development and integration, testing and training for modernizing business processes.
CSC also will assess the agency's lifecycle processes and enterprise architecture.
The contract has one base year and seven one-year options. The award follows on a systems development and maintenance contract originally awarded in 1997 and scheduled to expire in May.
'For up to eight years, this contract will provide USPTO with support in the development, enhancement and maintenance of more than 120 application information systems,' acting deputy CIO Larry Cogut said.
CSC will develop applications for projects such as patent and trademark search, electronic filing of applications, electronic workflow and financial systems, he said.
