Ship shows its metal
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Navy and Northrop Grumman Corp. are collaborating with the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, Va., on recreating a bit of high-tech weaponry from 143 years ago: the USS Monitor. More than 100 Northrop Grumman employees are putting together the replica of the Civil War ironclad ship, which will anchor the $30 million USS Monitor Center at the museum.
