Va. Transportation Department re-ups Halifax for seat management

Halifax Corp. has won a $21 million contract extension from the Virginia Transportation Department for seat management services over the next three years, the company announced today.
Under the terms of the deal Halifax, of Alexandria, Va., will provide enterprise maintenance services to VDOT, supporting more than 7,700 desktops and servers. The contract award extends Halifax's current agreement with VDOT, which was signed in 1998.
Through its previous contract, the company worked to lower the total cost of infrastructure ownership while keeping service a high priority, said Charles McNew, Halifax's president and CEO.
Halifax, founded in 1967, is an enterprise maintenance solutions company serving commercial and government customers with high-availability hardware maintenance, technology deployment and integration services.
