GSA taps Telos for information security support

Telos Corp. will assist the General Services Administration with IT security in the agency's effort to merge the Federal Technology and Federal Supply services.

Under the $3 million, five-year agreement, Federal Acquisition Service team members will work with Telos to protect and ensure the security of the agency's enterprise infrastructure, said officials from the Ashburn, Va., company.

Telos will perform certifications and accreditations and conduct security vulnerability management for GSA. It also will use the expertise it gained in ensuring that the Pentagon backbone networks comply with the governing Defense Department and National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines.

GSA is merging the two services into the Federal Acquisition Service, which includes telecommunications contracts, governmentwide acquisition contracts, professional services schedules, IT schedules and programs, planning and development.
