Transportation re-ups with CSC for IT support

The Transportation Department has awarded Computer Sciences Corp. a five-year, $178 million contract to continue providing IT services at the agency's John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Mass.

The contract builds on a $191 million deal CSC won in August 2000, the company said today.

Under the new deal, CSC will provide a host of IT services, including detailed technology assessments and requirements analysis; concept development and architecture design; software development; testing and integration; systems training and maintenance; and operational support for transportation and logistics management.

The Volpe Center provides research, analysis and system deployment services to Transportation and other federal, state and local agencies.
