Virtual Space: Tour de Force

Tomorrow (April 18) marks the 100th anniversary of the great San Francisco earthquake. The Geological Survey has developed an extensive look back, using Google Earth to offer a virtual tour of the quake, combining 3-D mapping of the faults and the terrain with photos of fault rupture, the damage from the 1906 quake, and plenty of other features. You have to download Google Earth to view the tour. If you're interested, you can get started by going to GCN.com and entering 558 in the GCN.com/search box.
