Tech brief: Juniper, FIPS and VPNs

Juniper Networks Inc. recently rolled out a pair of FIPS-compliant, Secure Sockets Layer VPN appliances. The Secure Access 4000 FIPS and 6000 FIPS appliances were designed specifically for government's remote access applications. SSL VPNs mean agencies can enable secure access to their networks without cumbersome client management. Not only have the SA 4000 and SA 6000 met the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Federal Information Processing Standards, they've also received Common Criteria certification.
