Symantec hones Storage Foundation

Symantec Corp. of Cupertino, Calif., (www.symentec.com) has released two new editions of Storage Foundation, the storage management software the company acquired when it purchased Veritas. Storage Foundation Basic is a free version aimed at data center servers, complementing use of Storage Foundation for Storage Area Networks. Also new is Storage Foundation Management Server, which can collect information from other copies of Storage Foundation running on the network, in effect creating a central hub.
