Fla. city awards software deal

Sarasota, Fla., has awarded a contract to Hansen Information Technologies Inc. to install its community development and regulation software suite.

Under the contract, Hansen of Rancho Cordova, Calif., will deploy its four-phase CDR software, a mobile solution, and a portal through which citizens can request make service requests, apply for permits and schedule inspections. The contract is valued at $1.1 million.

Hansen's CDR software addresses four functions: license and escrow, code compliance, building and permits, and development application review.

The CDR software suite and related services will help the city of Sarasota improve service to a population of 58,000. Last year the city issued more than 5,600 permits, managed more than 2,300 code enforcement cases and processed more than 6,100 occupational licenses.
