of Hopkinton, Mass., has introduced new information lifecycle management software, called Infoscape
. This software will manage the storage, retrieval and disposal of unstructured documents, based on internal policy and regulatory requirements.
The software builds metadata about documents that allow for later searching and categorization. Like other ILM offerings, Infoscape can automatically move files from high-priced storage arrays to slower but more cost-effective forms of storage, using as criteria the file's age or other factors that determine the file's relevance.
