Air Force turns to Raytheon for U-2 systems support

The Air Force awarded Raytheon Co. a $113 million contract to continue delivering consolidated field support for sensors, data links and ground systems for the U-2 reconnaissance aircraft program.
The company's services under the contract include pre-flight system checks, mission support during flights and post-mission problem analysis. Raytheon also will install new systems and system upgrades as part of its work.
The award is second option under the U-2 field support contract, which furnishes support at the Air Force's Distributed Common Ground Systems sites for all U-2 high altitude reconnaissance aircraft sensors, ground systems and data links.
The Distributed Common Ground Systems program is a worldwide network that physically and electronically distributes intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data, processes and systems.
