SO FLY: The battery-powered eFlyBook displays documents in many formats.
Arinc has introduced an electronic reader for charts and other documents. Initially designed to hold maps and instruction manuals for pilots, the battery-powered eFlyBook is about 0.5 inches by 6 inches by 9 inches and lets users write notes on a memo page. Because the screen uses no backlight, it can run several days on a single charge. The unit can work with many document formats and can ingest material through a USB drive or a memory card. It costs about $1,100.
