A full-scale model of the James Webb Space Telescope, scheduled to replace the Hubble in 2013, made an appearance recently on the National Mall. Lead contractor Northrop Grumman put on the display of the Webb, which is being built under contract to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. NASA plans for the next-generation telescope to travel almost 1 million miles from Earth and send back infrared images and data from about 13 billion years ago.
