GCN tech brief | HP is moving against thieves by bundling Computrace Data Protection with three new laptops

Hewlett-Packard is moving against laptop thieves by bundling Computrace Data Protection with three new laptops marketed to teleworkers in the federal sector. Until Oct. 31, a three-year subscription for Computrace Data Protection, Absolute Software's solution for remotely deleting data on missing or stolen computers, is included in the purchase price of HP Compaq 6910p, 6710p and 6715p laptop PCs, available exclusively to federal customers.
