The National Security Agency has certified General Dynamics' new TACLANE-Micro (KG-175D), which the company touts as the industry's smallest and lightest in-line network encryptor.
Designed primarily for mobile or remote platforms with limited space and power, the fully ruggedized KG-175D measures 1.61 inches by 5.5 inches by 10.85 inches and weighs only 4.25 pounds. The unit is passively cooled and has no fans or other moving parts that could be susceptible to breakdowns. It can also be managed remotely.
