Flash drive raises the ceiling for portable storage

Corsair Memory's 32G flash drive.

It was only a couple of years ago that a 2G flash drive was something to ooh and ahh over.

Now Corsair Memory has introduced a 32G flash drive. That's enough, the company says, to hold more than 16 full-length movies. The Corsair 32G Flash Voyager and Flash Survivor USB drives debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show 2008 in Las Vegas this month.

Both drives are designed for rugged use. The Flash Voyager is encased in rubber, while the Flash Survivor has a waterproof aluminum case.

In addition, both drives are bootable, which means users can store full versions of operating systems and applications.

The Flash Voyager has a suggested retail price of $230, while the Flash Survivor has a suggested retail price of $250. www.corsair.com
