Acrobat 9 with Flash

Users of the portable document format should note that Adobe has released the version 9 of Acrobat, its flagship PDF editor. New to this edition is the ability to add interactive Flash animations, audio and business logic into PDF documents. You can also embed PDFs with Adobe Flex components so material within the document can be periodically updated via a Web service. Acrobat also features enhanced collaboration capabilities, allowing a PDF file to be annotated and updated by multiple users, through the company's online collaboration service, Acrobat.com. "PDF documents are well beyond simple visual representation of paper on a screen," said Bobby Caudill, an Adobe government solutions manager. The new Flash capabilities do require Acrobat Reader 9, which is due to be released early this month.
