Maj. Gary Hockett opens new communication lines for Pacific Air Forces
Hockett is responsible for planning and launching large-scale IT initiatives for the Pacific Air Forces, one of the two major Air Force commands outside the continental United States.

Most recently, Hockett, 40, was instrumental in migrating the command from BlackBerry-based messaging to an open platform for wireless e-mail that is compatible with a wide range of smart phones and collaboration devices. His work on this platform, in collaboration with the Air Force Air Education and Training Command, provided the impetus for the Defense Information Systems Agency to publish the Security Technical Implementation Guide for Windows Mobile Messaging Wireless E-Mail Systems.
