General Dynamics to develop combat key generator

General Dynamics will design, develop and test information assurance technologies that will enable the next-generation combat-key generator for tactical U.S. military radio users who manage the exchange of classified keying information, the company said.

The CKG, a reprogrammable encryption-key generator, will work with existing and next-generation information assurance products and equipment used in military vehicles, aircraft and ships. It will replace existing key generators, including the KOK-13A.

Under contract to the Air Force's Cryptologic Systems Group, General Dynamics will develop CKG to meet the National Security Agency's Cryptographic Modernization Initiative and NSA/CSS Policy No. 3-9 requirements.
