IT salaries on the rise

Salaries for IT professionals increased in the past year; bonuses were significant for those who earned them

Times are hard all around. But a recent survey conducted by TechRepublic suggests the information technology profession is doing all right in the current recession. The survey of 14,000 IT professionals found that salaries increased from 2008 to 2009. And although the percentage of those receiving raises and bonuses dipped, those who did get the extra cash got more of it. An analyst at Global Knowledge speculated that some organizations are saving IT jobs by using technology to streamline operations and help reduce the number of positions needed in other departments.
