Georgia cops have their city wired
Soon, naughty people won't safe in public places in Sandy Springs, Ga.
Police there will be able to use laptops and smart phones to see video
from cameras located around that city,
Sarah Rich writes in Government Technology.
The project uses a software platform with a Google Maps
interface, and users will be able to see live and recorded footage from city cameras by clicking on a Google map and can pan, tilt and zoom, the story said.
The city will get the camera access technology through a
partnership with Iron Sky, and is partnered with L-3 Communications for wireless
capability, according to the article.
