Updating your Facebook status behind bars? Think again.
If you find yourself behind bars in California, it's a good idea not to post a status update on Facebook.
That state's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has announced that it has started reporting such account activity to Facebook's Security Department for removal, Mashable reports
The corrections department says it started the policy in response to "numerous incidents" in which prison inmates delivered threats or unwanted sexual advances via Facebook, according to Mashable.
The department's policy states that it is OK for an inmate to have a Facebook account, provided that it was set up before he or she was incarcerated and that it is not updated while the person is serving time.
