Microsoft is going back to high school
Virginia will use the Microsoft IT Academy Program at all of its public high schools, giving students access to industry certifications, training materials and online learning content, Government Technology reports.
The program supports technology education from computer basics to programming skills and will begin this fall in 30 high schools and nine regional career and technical education centers, the article said.
State officials want to get the program running across the state by the end of the 2011-2012 school year, and Virginia is the third state to sign a statewide agreement with Microsoft for the program, the story added.
