NASA's open-source hub takes flight
Open-source projects at NASA will be getting a boost from a new agencywide online hub launched this week, FedScoop reports.
In an effort to consolidate and expand the use of open source, the agency has created Code.NASA.gov. The site will be a collection point for all of NASA's open-source activities.
It will act as a forum for introducing new open-source projects and discussing existing ones. The site will also provide guidance for pursuing the open-source process as well as a listing existing open-source projects and points of contact.
NASA will develop the site in three stages. The agency is seeking input on the project at opengov@nasa.gov.
The introduction of the new hub came as NASA announced that it had contributed to a public repository hosted by the code-sharing website Github, according to FedScoop.
