Agencies that rely on the IceWarp messaging system for seamless communications between every type of mobile device don't have to worry about an OS upgrade. The newest IceWarp suite, Version 10.4.4, is compatible with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system, as well as Windows Server 2012, so the traffic can keep flowing between mobile devices running all types of operating systems, and mainline PCs and tablets powered by Windows 8.
"Although we compete with Microsoft Exchange in the messaging space, full compatibility with the Microsoft environment is the key element of our development strategy," said Ladislav Goc, IceWarp's president. "We have been licensing key patents and protocols from the Redmond giant since 2009. That allowed us to develop our own solutions that work with MS Exchange ActiveSync more effectively than Exchange itself."
In many ways, IceWarp functions like an Exchange server, but it offers more compatibility options with non-Microsoft products.
"If you have an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Android tablet you can set full synchronization of your mobile device in the same way as you would do with Exchange server," Goc said.
IceWarp Server 10.4.4 provides the full experience for Windows 8 users, including IceWarp WebClient compatibility with Internet Explorer 10 and IceWarp Desktop Client compatibility with Windows 8. Windows 8 Mail synchronizes e-mails, contacts and calendars against IceWarp Server.
IceWarp Messaging Server is the company's flagship product that includes Mail Server with dual anti-spam and antivirus protection. The product also has add-on options such as the IceWarp GroupWare Server, Instant Messaging Server, Text Messaging Server, a unified WebClient interface and full mobile device synchronization.
The company is also offering LiveWebAssist, a multilingual business chat tool that allows live interaction with Web visitors who may not speak English.
