New Mexico upgrades its Web, mobile experience
New Mexico’s Transportation Department has turned to a cloud-based solution to better create, manage and analyze digital content across websites, mobile devices, social media and other channels.
NMDOT has deployed Adobe Experience Manager, a part of Adobe Marketing Cloud, to redesign and simplify the agency’s website and make content more accessible to residents.
By deploying Adobe Experience Manager the agency has reduced 874 website pages down to 72, redesigned and launched an intuitive website in just six months, simplified website navigation and met Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Standards (Section 508) requirements, NMDOT officials said.
NMDOT wanted to deliver a first-class experience, getting citizens to the information they need quickly and in a compelling way, Bruce Oakeley, IT information systems manager with NMDOT, said in a release.
Meanwhile, Adobe Systems has announced new updates to AEM. As part of Adobe Marketing Cloud, the software can be deployed in the cloud or on-premise at an organization.
Adobe has enhanced the product’s Web content and mobile management capabilities. Web site developers can quickly preview responsive design layouts while authoring content to understand exactly how it will perform on desktops, tablets and smartphones. They can precisely control video and image sizing and delivery to ensure the best performance, Adobe officials said.
Developers can also incorporate social elements and user-generated content into websites and create branded communities to help people connect based on common interests, officials said.
Additionally, new capabilities let agency staff repurpose content across online properties, including digital publications, with new article-based authoring and integration with Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. From within Adobe Experience Manager NMDOT users now have access Adobe Analytics, which helps them better understand customer activity, officials said.
