harmonie Collaboration app for Blackberry 10

App company brings collaboration to BlackBerry 10

As agencies consider using new BlackBerry 10 devices for their employees, several considerations arise. But since the Defense Department has put out the Security Technical Implementation Guides for these devices, most of the concerns are now about having the right apps to let users do their jobs.

In order for BlackBerry to maintain the adoption levels for BB10 that it has enjoyed from government users for past versions, the company needs developers to come on board to provide popular apps, especially those addressing enterprise collaboration.

Mobile app development company harmon.ie has one area covered. The company has announced  the release of a native app that allows BlackBerry 10 users to take full advantage of both Office 365 and SharePoint platforms.

The app lets users get real-time updates as colleagues work on documents then follow the collaboration on those files, the company said in its announcement. Workers can save documents on their devices so they will be available off-line, and they can upload documents received as email attachments onto Office 365 to device and from device to Office 365, all within a secure environment, harmon.ie added. By extending the features of Microsoft’s collaboration tools to BlackBerry users, network administrators will be able to more fully implement their agency’s BYOD policies.

Harmon.ie for BlackBerry 10 will be offered as part of the new version of the harmon.ie product suite, Version 4.0.
