The Army has hired Computer Sciences Corp. to integrate its logistics information systems.
Under a $199 million blanket purchasing agreement awarded by the Army's Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems, CSC will develop a logistics environment that weds the Army's field logistics system and its national logistics system. The deal runs until 2009.
CSC, also contractor for another major Army logistics initiative known as the Logistics Modernization Program, will use LOGMOD as the foundation for its work on this new contract.
'This program is a natural extension of the Logistics Modernization Program work we've accomplished to modernize Army business processes and configure them using an enterprise resource application,' said Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's federal-sector unit.
