The Defense Department has awarded a $42.3 million contract to Computer Sciences Corp. to provide Web hosting and applications support services to the Defense Technical Information Center, the company announced. The four-year contract has a two-year option.
Under the contract, CSC will host internal and external Web sites for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Washington Headquarters Services and other DOD agencies.
In addition, CSC will establish single-sign-on network capabilities, implement connectivity for agency networks, support Web services, improve registration processes and expand full-text search, content management systems and Web portal offerings.
The new agreement follows a five-year, $25 million contract signed with the information center in 2001, through which CSC provides Web hosting support for various DOD Web sites.
