IAC issues guide to federal IT security

Federal agencies struggling with information security requirements can use a new handbook from the Industry Advisory Council as a road map.

IAC, a Fairfax, Va.-based public-private interest group, has released the Federal Regulatory Compliance Guide and Matrix, a compilation of several government requirements for information security and assessment standards.

The guide is intended to be a reference for federal guidelines such as the Federal Information Security Management Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, according to IAC. To see the guide, go to www.gcn.com and enter 504 in the GCN.com/box.
