Feldner elevated to CIO in North Dakota

North Dakota Republican Gov. John Hoeven has appointed Lisa Feldner to serve as the state's new CIO. Feldner starts her new position May 8.

Feldner previously was technology director for Bismarck Public Schools, where she managed the budget and staff, and oversaw the design, development and integration of software and hardware systems for more than 13,000 users at 26 campuses.

As state CIO, Feldner will help advance North Dakota's comprehensive technology plan, Hoeven said in a statement announcing the appointment. She has 'the job skills necessary to take the state to the next level of development,' he said.

Feldner holds a bachelor's in computer science and business education and a master's in mathematics education from Minot State University. She also holds a doctorate in education leadership from the University of North Dakota.

Felder will earn an annual salary of $94,000, the governor's office said.
