SEC wants prototypes to access XBRL documents
The Securities and Exchange Commission seeks proposals for a prototype system that will provide a user-friendly environment in which to access documents written in Extensible Business Reporting Language and submitted to the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval (Edgar) system.
The contract will be for a one-year base period plus two one-year options, beginning on or about Oct. 1.
SEC has been trying to get more companies to
voluntarily submit financial data using XBRL, which makes financial data interactive. XBRL also standardizes data so regulators can make comparisons when analyzing corporate information.
Offerors must have experience implementing multiple deliveries of substantive Extensible Markup Language applications, prior work with EDGAR data and XBRL development, SEC said in its posting
announcing the RFP on FedBizOpps.
Proposals are due Aug. 31.
