At this month's CTIA Wireless show in Los Angeles,
Panasonic Computer Solutions Co. (
www.panasonic.com/toughbook) rolled out three new ruggedized Toughbook notebooks, the ultraportable
Toughbook W5, tablet alternative
Toughbook T5 and thin-yet-high-end
Toughbook Y5. The W5 and T5 use the ultralow-voltage Intel Core Solo processor, while the Y5 has a low-voltage Core Duo chip. Each has built-in WiFi and supports optional EvDO and High-Speed Downlink Packet Access radios. The Toughbook W5 and T5 will be available next month starting at around $1,899. The Toughbook Y5 will be ready in December and go for $2,199.
