Oracle to revamp content management apps

Oracle Corp. has got big plans for beefing up its enterprise content-management offerings. At the AIIM 2007 Conference & Expo, held in Boston this year, Oracle announced that it is going to release major new versions of all of its content-management products over the next year. In addition, the company will offer a new integrated suite. The new Enterprise Content Management Suite will include Oracle Universal Content Management, Oracle Universal Records Management and Oracle Imaging and Process Management.
The integrated suite is designed to address all aspects of ECM from archiving and imaging, to Web content and document management, to records and retention management in a hot-pluggable product that provides simultaneous, out-of-the-box support for Oracle as well as third-party repositories, identity management systems and enterprise applications.
In addition, Oracle will deliver a new version of its Information Rights Management and Content Database products.
Many of the enhancements to Oracle's content management product line are the result of the company's acquisition of Stellent Inc. in December 2006.
