AirMagnet's 5020 and 5023 wireless intrusion-detection sensors have earned Federal Information Processing Standard certification, becoming the first such sensors to do so. Under new guidelines, achieving FIPS certification is required before a vendor can file for Common Criteria certification, an international standard for computer security. With FIPS certification now complete, AirMagnet said it is now pursuing Common Criteria certification.
