AlgoSec firewall migration app

AlgoSec is offering a migration tool that enables users of Cisco's PIX security appliances to upgrade smoothly to Cisco's ASA 5500 series adaptive security appliances.

Cisco has announced July 28 as the end-of-sale date of its PIX appliance. AlgoSec's Firewall Analyzer Product Suite can ensure business continuity and maintaining compliance through the migration process, AlgoSec representatives said.

According to company representatives, the AlgoSec migration tool enables organizations that are upgrading from PIX to ASA to
  • Automate the error-prone manual task of rule-by-rule comparison
  • Ensure business continuity by validating that critical traffic will keep flowing
  • Receive an independent third party 'proof of correct migration' audit and
  • Control professional service costs associated with migration.

AlgoSec products work across most firewall versions and vendors, according to company officials, including Check Point, Cisco and Juniper.

AlgoSec's migration tools provide organizations with 'a way to quickly and cost-effectively guarantee that the migration was as planned and maintain the integrity of their security policy,' said Avishai Wool, AlgoSec co-founder and chief technology officer.
