Velocity 7.0 will let users tailor Web searches
Vivisimo announced today that its Velocity Search Platform 7.0,
which employs conceptual search technology to improve search
results, will be available Dec 1.
Velocity 7.0 uses conceptual search technology, which gives
users the option of choosing between a precise search for specific
documents or searching for all information related to their query,
according to Vivisimo officials said.
Velocity 7.0 users also will be able to expand queries using
automatically created, related concepts derived from Vivisimo's
clustering methods and heuristics.
"The new version leverages users’ intent—do they
want to broaden a query for research or narrow their search to
enhance findability?" said Jerome Pesenti, Vivisimo’s chief
scientist and cofounder. "Vivisimo’s Velocity Search Platform
7.0 helps enterprise search deliver more relevant results by
providing new tools that enhance personalization of the search
process.”
