Hanging up on desktop phones

When information technology analyst firm Gartner compiled its annual list of predictions for 2009, it pointed out a steady trend toward the professional use of smart phones and cell phones as opposed to desktop phones. During the next decade, such mobile devices will start to replace desk-based phones entirely, Gartner said.
